Sunday School Department, Elder Michael Mims

"JESUS IS!" Elder Michael leads an "active" role in the Sunday School Dept. He has the anointing of God and is a promoter of Christ! He encourages Bible Study, attendance, and is precise in conducting the order of service unless otherwise directed by the spirit. He occasionally gives Bible questions/answers and rewards with gifts!

What is Sunday School?

Sunday School is a vital arm of the Church. It is a Word centered, Spirit empowered, life changing outreach and evangelism organism. Through Sunday School, families enter into relationship with the church and the Lord Jesus. It is a forum for encouragement and renewal. Sunday School brings together the young and young at heart where loving and spiritual support is established.

Mother's Board
Mother Pearl Collins, Church Mother

"Work on me Lord!" Mother Collins leads the women of Mims Chapel like a gentle mother nourishes her child. She is First-Lady's spokesman, echoes on the Pastor's message of fellowship among other Churches, and encourages the women to be themselves, more active in the church and to keep out jealousy!

Church Mothers should be women who are spirit-filled, sound minded, full of wisdom, respected and appreciated in their homes, churches, and communities; one who the Pastor can trust to give guidance to the women ministry.

Women's Department, Msny Beverly Mims
Church Missionary,

"When I think of the goodness of Jesus, and aaal He has done for me; MY soul cries out hallelujah, I thank God for saving me!" Missionary Beverly is power impacted, She's a fisher of men with a hunger and thirst for the world to be saved....Her particular area of interest focuses on reaching the young people. She is a dramatic teacher; It was prophesied years ago that she would be one of the greatest missionaries in Austin. Her aim is not to become popular but pleasing to God.

In December 2006, Msny Beverly organized Mims Chapel Women's Prayer. On January 6, 2007-The Women had their first Prayer on the church van going to TXSW Leadership Conference at Greater Zion Temple, in Temple, TX.

Nursing Home Ministry every Tuesday @ 10:00a-Maggie Johnson Nursing Home Sis: Cathy Mims and Msny Margaret Mims has been ministering at the Maggie Johnson Nursing Home for many years. They have made a signifiant difference to the sick and shut-in. They have reported lives being changed and hearts being uplifted. "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."  James 1:27

Bible Band and Home & Foreign Meet every Tuesday @ 7:30p

Women's Day every 5th Sunday of the month @ 11:00a
Pastor Mims allow the women to go forth in power and praise with songs, solos, women's choir march, readings and poems on Sunday morning and night service. He believes in giving every women a chance from the Sisterhood to the Mothers to expound on the word of God, beginning on Friday nights!

Sis: Pauline Mims

"Lord, I'm available to you" - sings under conviction, Sis: Pauline with Sis: Chantele have been working with the Youth Dept for many years. Sis: Pauline loves children and is gifted in working with them.

This Ministry uses innovative methods to insure that our youth become valued resources to their families, churches, and communities. Our goal is to teach them how to become self-sustaining productive citizens, without compromising Godly principles.

The Youth Dept. meet on Sunday Nights from 6:00-7:00p

PURPOSE: A youth department that is in tune with the needs of today’s youth. A youth department that has relevant and pertinent information for youth and about youth. A youth Department that bridges the gap between the “old school” and today’s reality. A youth department that embraces and encourages them to achieve new heights in both the spiritual and secular environment.

Youth On The Move For Christ
Mtr: Billie Black, coordinator

The "Youth On The Move For Christ" Drill Team is a group of "BOLD" young boys and girls that will tell you just like it is from the WORD. This Drill Team was organized in 1991 with Sis: Black's grandchildren and foster children. She said while the children were with her she would teach them cheers about Jesus to keep them occupied. They would walk around the house chanting J-E-S-U-S and making up steps to go along. Four of the originals are still with the Drill Team! They are David Houston, Sunday Samuel, Michael Wilkins and Ashley Wilkins. Her ministry is expanding in numerous areas-They have performed in festivals, various churches, and even television!

"Yea Glory!" " Whose Side Are You Lending On?" Deacon Johnnie is a fun, energetic believer of God who is a "people's person" and is faithful in the work of the church

Deacons are mentioned in the New Testament in Phil. 1:1, I Tim. 3:8, 10, 12 and Acts 6:1-6. All deacons are appointed by the Pastor. They are men who have proven to live a godly life and are dedicated to the work of the Lord and the up keeping of the church.
